Dufton village lies on the eastern fellside of the Eden Valley, 3 miles north of Appleby-in-Westmorland, the former county town of Westmorland

Dufton is a designated Conservation Village, bordering the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and lying on the Pennine Way.

Dufton is quiet, yet offers a wide variety of accommodation, including a YHA, The Stag Inn, Grandie Caravan and Camping Park, and also the lively Dufton Village Hall.
